Baby Bath Seats and Walkers Unsafe

Baby Bath Seats and Walkers Unsafe

Both baby bath seats and baby walkers are widely criticized as unsafe, and even banned in some countries.

The Consumers Union has recommended the federal government ban baby bath seats due to risk of serious injury or death from drowning.[1]

The American Academy of Pediatrics and the National Association for Children’s Hospitals and Related Institutions have called for stopping the manufacturing and sale of baby walkers. Baby walker related injuries fell after new safety regulations in 2010. Nevertheless, more than 230,000 children under 15 months old were treated in hospitals for injuries related to baby walkers from 1990 through 2014. Canada has banned the sale of all baby walkers.

Parents can check online to see if baby products have been recalled, and in with some products may wish to reconsider their use altogether.
