By now we have all heard about the Toyota recalls. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration five deaths and 17 injuries have been attributed to unintended acceleration in Toyota vehicles since 2006.[1]
The Toyota acceleration issues have spurred wrongful death and product liability claims and lawsuits against the auto maker.[2] Meanwhile, a Dallas attorney is seeking to reopen old cases against Toyota alleging that Toyota hid evidence in previous lawsuits.[3]
Product liability claims involve a complicated web of conventional torts law, state product liability laws, and, sometimes, federal laws.
If you have been injured as the result of a defective product you may be well served to consult with an attorney.
